New Student Info

In order to facilitate a smooth transition to our high school and provide the best academic program for your child, we ask that you follow the procedure outlined here:

STEP 1: Before you can schedule an appointment with a Guidance Counselor we need the following information:

  • Registration Form (please complete the entire form and sign where indicated)
  • Proof of Residency (Mortgage or rental documentation and a utility bill in your name for the identified address)

STEP 2: We also need all official records sent to us from the school your child currently attends. Parents are responsible for having this documentation sent to Hanover High School (attn: Stacey Smith, Registrar). Required records include:

  • Immunization/Health Records
  • Official Transcript from your school
  • Grades in progress
  • Former school course selections for current/upcoming year
  • Attendance record
  • Disciplinary record from your high school
  • Test data including Diagnostic Test Results and Psycho-educational Reports
  • SPED/504* records if applicable (include the name of your SPED/504 Coordinator)

*If your child currently receives Special Education and/or 504 services at school or has received Special Education and/or 504 services in the past at this or any other school or your child is in the process of evaluation to see if he/she qualifies for Special Education and/or 504 services, your school's Special Education/504 Coordinator must contact Deb Kennedy, HHS Special Education Coordinator at 603-643-3431, ext, 2806.

How will we decide which courses my child should take?

Your child may be required to take placement tests in math, science, and foreign languages. The Guidance Counselor will determine this after academic records are reviewed. All 9th graders are required to take placement exams.

My child is interested in playing sports? How can s/he join?
